“A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth,so that it might devour her child the moment he was born… This ancient serpent, the Devil and Satan; the one who deceives the whole world.” // Revelations 12:1-4,9
What’s the motivation behind abortion? It’s hard to come away from this passage without seeing who is behind our culture’s rush toward killing unborn children. Certainly, abortion is more than a political issue, it’s a highly personal situation involving crisis and tragedy on all sides. But death is Satan’s currency throughout history, his stock-in-trade. He loves to “kill and destroy,” unlike Jesus, who came that we might, “have life abundantly” ( John 10:10).
Today I witnessed something so powerful it brought me to tears, and nearly to my knees.
My Grandma and Grandpa, who have been together for more than 50 years, were fighting a battle that could not be won.
My Grandpa was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few years ago, and by the grace of…
So I figured I may as well explain my current blog silence. You see, God totally blessed me with a new job, my dream job, working at Microsoft! The hours are pretty extensive though, so I’ll probably be fading in and out on here for a time.
In other words, I’ll be around ;) take care guys!
“He’s like a brother and I love him … We understand each other, even if we look at each other in silence. He sweats a lot and I’m like a mother worried he’ll get sick so I wipe his sweat with a towel I carry around on set. He also eats a lot and usually they close the food area during certain times of the day and sometimes I have my leftovers and I give it to him. I have his back like he has mine. I just wish he was shorter.”

Let the Hunger Games Begin! Or questions… Whichever works best!
1) Favorite song and why?
Goodness, I have quite a few haha. Let’s see, it’s actually a whole album! Give Us Rest by the David Crowder*Band. I love each and every one of the 34 tracks on it ;) It’s such an uplifting and personally involved album that it brings me to worship in a whole new way! Not to mention DC*B is one of the most gifted bands out there as far as complexity in writing and musicianship goes!
2 )If you could choose 3 people - past or present - to have dinner and conversation with, who would you choose?
Well, I’ma be that guy and say “Duh, Jesus” for my #1. I would love to sit down with him on the beach, eating fish for breakfast! My #2 would have to be David Crowder just because I’m so amazed at his passion as a worship leader, and that’s one of my biggest passions in life! #3 Would be (Pappa) Chuck Smith, the founder of Calvary Chapel. Love hearing his teachings, I bet he’d be a great guy to sit down with and just chat!
3) In a zombie apocalypse, what would be your weapon of choice?
Pfft, a bow & arrow. Quiet, deadly, easy to make more ammo and keep my distance. If it don’t kill, it’ll definitely slow down. A good knife would have to tag along with that. If ammo wasn’t an issue, I’d say any form of long range rifle ;)
4) Rank the colors of the rainbow from your favorite color to least favorite color.
Blue, Orange, Red, Green, Purple, Yellow.
5) Favorite movie quote and why?
“Sure I met a lot of gals over the years, but they all had the same problem. They weren’t you.” Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I quoted that at my now girlfriend when I was first telling her how much I loved her. Pretty much anything out of Ford’s mouth is gold ;)
6) What sound do you love?
My girlfriend Katie’s laugh. She has like 50. It’s so fantastic!
Besides that I love nature. The soft patter of rain, the sound of crashing waves when the wind runs through tree leaves. There is an orchestra of beauty out there. Birds singing, children laughing; I can hear my God’s voice in those beautiful moments.
7) If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
Ooooh, so not fair. There are at least 5, but I’ll narrow it down to 2.
Old Age: Definitely Eragon, Alagaesia is such a rich world.
Modern: I’d want to be a fellow hunter alongside Sam & Dean Winchester in Supernatural. Yeah, I wouldn’t take their place, but yeah, I’d ride with them.
8) What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Good question. “A Wanderer’s Journal” or “A Journal of a Wanderer.” Based off of JRR Tolkien’s quote, “Not all those that wander are lost.”
9) If you won the lottery, what would be the very first thing you do?
I’d do a rather silly victory/happy dance. My first purchase would probably be a home. After that I’d probably set aside what I’d need, spoil my parents and family, donate most to my church, and give the rest away to World Vision or something similar.
10) You could only eat one meal (I’ll be nice…hehe) for the rest of your life - what would it be?
Goodness. I could be clever and say pizza and just swap toppings each day, but I’ll be honest and say my mum’s homemade mac & cheese.
11) What one gif do you use most often?
I actually usually don’t. Although I am quite fond of the “wacky Dean moments” that float around every once in a while.
Victory. It’s mine. Now it’s your turn!
1) What’s your favorite font? (You’re on tumblr, don’t tell me you don’t know)
2) When you’re not on the computer you are most likely ___________
3) I’m making you choose. Han Solo vs Indiana Jones. Who would win?
4) If you could get away doing anything in a flash mob, what would you do?
5) If you could be any one of the Avengers which would you be?
6) Favorite bible verse (if you read it, if not, favorite book quote. Or both!)
7) Favorite meme
8) Why is PC so much better than Mac?
9) Favorite Band
10) If you could be a master/pro/beast at any one instrument, what would it be? (Don’t be ashamed to say a Glockenspielle)
11) If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Red Rover, Red Rover, will yall come on over?!
Kalii (aka the scarf stays)
Felicia (aka Picnic and Sweets)
Talon (aka Here’s Your Host)
Sarah (aka Sarah Walter-Larue)
My GF, Katie (aka Dancing With Fireflies)
heroesaresupposedtofight asked: I honestly don't expect you to do this, but I thought I would inform you anyway. I tagged you here:(post/22374413492/about-me). You don't have to do it, just thought I would tell you, just in case. :) Btw, you're one of my favorite blogs. Such peace and truth on my dash. Thank you for being you.
Thanks so much, it means a lot that someone out there is listening! I’m glad God could use me to help you!

When Me becomes We //
“A man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife; and the two are united into one.” - Genesis 2:24 (NLT)
Our love is a reflection of God’s love in us. Our thoughts and experiences of what love is are directly influenced by what we experience through God. You see, without God in a relationship, there is no perfect love. Sure you can give eros (physical) and phileo (companion, brotherly, sisterly, etc) love easily enough, but in the moments where you have to lay aside yourself for your spouse; that’s where you need the unconditional love of God, agape love.
You see, God created marriage as a symbol of what our relationship with Him should model; both personally and as a church. Men; God is showing you that you need to be a strong and courageous leader. Women; God is showing you that by respecting and loving your husband, you can nurture and heal any wound Satan throws at your family. But before we can even come to marriage, we must first deal with the process of two becoming one.
I was talking with one of the wise sages of our church body, and he had this to say about marriage. “I am Bruce, and my wife is Judy, but am I really still just Bruce? Sure, in a small group setting. But to the public I am part of a pair, half of a whole. I am Bruce and Judy Davis. We are equally one but also able to be independent.” Two becoming one. It’s a mystery that reflects even deeper into the nature of God. For we know and believe that there is God the Father, Jesus Christ the son, and the Holy Spirit. Each are individual people, but they are triune God. They are all God. The same way that Bruce and Judy are one.
I’ve currently been going through quite a bit of “growing pains” lately; just moments where Katie and I have started to uncover unspoken truths about one another that we’ve only scratched the surface of before. Are they bad issues? No, not usually. No, it’s more of just learning more about my partner. It’s times like these where assumptions are laid aside and you get to a truth that neither of you have put into words before. Then you adapt and accept. Is it easy? If we try to do it by ourselves, heck no it’s not. But as soon as we pray and ask God to change our hearts, to help us love each other righteously, more and more daily, God will lead us with strong hands.
There’s a line that’s been echoing in my head for the past few weeks. My pastor actually touched base on it this week. While we were going over a similar topic in 1 John 5, Pastor Kelley called out the married folk (and dating crowd). He said, “If you’re in a relationship you need to quit acting like you’re single.”
And I’ll leave you with that.
Grace, Peace, and Love,
Cole
