So I was asked if I might give my testimony tonight at my church’s college group. Admittedly, it’s not all that exciting (unless you’re me) and I mightn’t be able to make it tonight due to school. But regardless, I felt that I needed to sharpen up my testimony and share it. If not tonight, then why not now?
Amen and amen!
So this here be Katie and I performing “How He Loves” by David Crowder at Taking Flight the Friday before last. It was a great experience, we played 3 worship songs expecting to be an ok presence in the battle, but we placed relatively high. Praise the Lord! Now things look like we are going to start writing our own stuff here soon! Exciting!!!
So recently across the interwebs (and billboards) there has been a widespread excitement and/or panic regarding the imminent return of Jesus Christ. May 21st that is. So yeah, we have a week. No, actually, not really.
So, yeah, I’m still here, and so is Harold (he’s just playing hide and seek) . Overall, this whole situation with the rapture being close and all does bring good things to light. Here’s a list of observations I’ve made lately…
So, last week or so I posted my testimony on here. You can find that here…
Basically, this week leading up to today has involved a lot of prayer, and well, personal discovery. I’ve been talking to folks about a recent suicide, trying to help them through it. I’ve also been encouraging some of my friends to just realize how special they are.
“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” - Psalms 27:14
There are times in our lives where we get caught up in the here & now, and forget that our God and our destiny are forged in eternity. Very recently I went through something similar, where I devoted a lot of time thinking on this one situation until I slowly blocked out the alternatives. This is what I learned from that…
He will destroy death forever. The Lord God will wipe away the tears from every face.
On that day it will be said, “Look, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He has saved us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him. Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”
What a great promise?! Sure we’ll face trials in life, God never promised us an easy life, but He guaranteed us a good one. After the trials and tests, there will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fear. I can’t wait :)
So, as some of you know, recently things have been slightly more interesting around these parts than I like, but God has definitely been teaching me and pulling me closer to His heart because of it. I read an excerpt from Max Lucado’s fearless, and this is more or less my gut reaction to it, so bear with me ;)
Worthless. That’s what a lot of people will say when you ask how the world makes them feel. Worthless. Waste of space. Stupid. Nothing. But how many of those people can actually turn around and know, deep in their hearts, just how much worth their life has? The sad truth is not many. The answer can not be found on this world. You are worth it, you are more, you are beautiful, you are perfect… in His eyes.
